Kenya is located in east Africa, with a population of about 40,046,566 people. The capital is Nairobi, but the small village we are focusing on is the Sigowet village, which is part of the Rift Valley part of Kenya, about 4 hours away from the capitol.

Because of how hard it is to get water in Kenya, many times people will have to walk long distances to reach the needed water. Often, the water is unhealthy and contaminated, which can cause serious health risks. At the same time, the length of time it takes to retrieve the water and bring it back home can often takes away a life of opportunities for the women collecting the water.
